Having decided to become an affiliate marketer. You can join merchant's programs through a network or through the merchant directly. Programs run by the merchant directly often offers the advantage of better payouts as they cut the middleman. Also, there are often less affiliates to compete with. Therefore many super-affiliates prefer to work directly with merchants. However, there have been many complaints of merchants not paying on time or not paying a all. Therefore you must be very careful with individual merchant programs, especially if you intend to spend a lot on advertising.
